2011 IMCA HAWKEYE DIRT TOUR RULES:

CAR RULES:
All modifieds that plan to compete at any Hawkeye Dirt Tour (HDT) event must be 100% compliant with the rules set forth by the International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) unless otherwise noted. An official from IMCA will be present at each event. Please refer to IMCA for these rules (www.imca.com ).

IMCA LICENESE:
All drivers must have an IMCA license in order to compete at any Hawkeye Dirt Tour event. HDT may ask each driver to present their IMCA license when they enter their car and draw for their heat race starting position.

HAWKEYE DIRT TOUR DRIVER REGISTRATION FEE:
Registration with the HDT entitles members to: points for that event, all contingencies that apply, HDT provisionals, HDT contingency prizes awarded at each race, and year-end point fund & awards. Unless otherwise noted, the annual cost will be $40 with $30 going towards the season-end driver's point fund. A driver will still need to pay the $50 car entry fee per event.

Drivers will be allowed to compete at one (1) HDT race each calendar season without having to pay the annual HDT registration fee. They will be awarded HDT points for that event only. They will not be entitled to any contingency awards, HDT provisionals, or be eligible to exacute an "engine claim," for that event. They will only become eligible for the year-end point fund & awards once they have paid for their HDT Driver Registration fee for that year.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE:
All Hawkeye Dirt Tour events will be a draw/redraw type of event unless otherwise noted. All drivers will need to draw for their heat race starting position when checking in. Each driver may be required to present their IMCA license prior to drawing a starting position. They must have also paid their annual HDT Driver Registration fee if applicable. The $50 car entry fee will also need to be paid before they draw.

QUALIFYING FORMAT:
Unless otherwise noted, twenty-four (24) cars will start each HDT A-Main on a given night. In most cases, twenty-one (21) to twenty-two (22) cars will qualify for a starting position for that night's A-Main via heat races and B-Main races.

The top 8-12 heat race transfers will be involved in the "redraw" for their A-Main starting positions. The rest will be determined based on finishing results.

PROVISIONAL START: Hawkeye Dirt Tour
In 2011, HDT will award a minimum of one (1) provisional starter at each event. In order to receive an HDT provisional start, a driver MUST be a member of the JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour ($40 annual fee) for that given calendar year. A driver may only receive a maximum of two (2) HDT provisional starts per calendar season.

For the first event of a given season (regardless of date held), the HDT provisional will be awarded based on the Top 20 of the previous year's final HDT Point Standings. From that point forward, the HDT provisional starter will be awarded based on the current Top 20 point standings.

PROVISIONAL START: Host Track
Unless otherwise noted, a track provisional will be awarded based on local track points. Pending the time of year, this may or may not be based on the previous year's point standings. This will be announced during the drivers meeting. All drivers (regardless of HDT membership status) may only receive a maximum of one (1) track provisional start per calendar season.

To be eligible for either provisional start (HDT's or Host Track's), a driver must have made an attempt to qualify via a heat race and/or a B-Main race.

ON-TRACK PROCEDURES:
The 2011 on-track prodedures will be announced soon ...

ENGINE CLAIM RULE:
At all Hawkeye Dirt Tour events, the "Engine Claim Rule" will be as follows.

For a driver to attempt an engine claim, that driver must have an IMCA claim card, have an IMCA license (and in good standing), have paid the annual HDT Driver Registration fee for that given year (and in good standing with HDT). They must also finish on the lead lap.

For the first two (2) events of a given season (regardless of date held), there will be no driver claim allowed. From that point forward, the Driver Engine Claim will be governed by the standard IMCA engine claim rules for Modifieds with the following exceptions. A driver must have attended all HDT events (perfect attendance) for a given year and finish on the lead lap in order to attempt to execute a claim.

Any and all decisions made by Hawkeye Dirt Tour officials and/or IMCA officials are final.
